Why Didymus

Why Didymus Lab

Sermon prep comes back every week, and time is always short. Hand it to an ordinary AI and you risk invented facts. Didymus Lab solves both at once: openly licensed scholarship, checked by a biblical scholar, and verified before it ever reaches you.

The week keeps coming back

  • Between admin and visitation the week is gone — and the sermons keep coming: Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, dawn prayer, week after week.
  • Working through a stack of commentaries verse by verse can swallow a whole week.
  • Ask an AI and the answer sounds right — but hallucination is a real risk. It can state things that are simply wrong, or cite books and verses that don't exist.
  • Big churches keep a research office to dig all this up and summarize it. Most churches can't justify the payroll.
Didymus Lab cites only tens of thousands of scholarly sources that are openly licensed — CC-BY, CC0, public domain — checked by hand by real researchers, all gathered into a single report. So the hours you used to spend hunting down and organizing material go back to your people and your family.

We don't generate — we verify.

A single invented Greek word, one citation to a paper that doesn't exist — in the pulpit, that is not a small error; it costs the preacher's credibility. Most AI sermon tools are a thin layer over a general chatbot, which is built to produce plausible-sounding text, not true text. When it doesn't know, it fills the gap convincingly — and it has no structural way to catch the result, because there is nothing behind the text to check it against. Didymus Lab is built the opposite way: every factual claim is checked against a real source before delivery.

How we guarantee it: nothing is invented

Original languages, checked against real morphology data

Greek and Hebrew analysis is verified against standard morphological databases for the original languages. A word that was never in the text cannot pass.

Citations, matched to a real scholarly library

Every in-text citation is matched against our open-access research library — author, year, and DOI. A paper or author that does not exist is blocked, not printed.

Scripture references, verified against the canon

Every verse reference is confirmed to actually exist in the biblical text before it is included.

An independent review, by a different model and a scholar

A report is never written and shipped in one pass. After it is drafted, a separate, independent model reviews it adversarially — looking for attribution errors, fabricated facts, and misquoted sources — and a biblical scholar checks it by hand before anything is delivered.

Behind each report is a multi-layer verification pipeline — source verification, citation and quotation limits, original-language checking, structure checks, and independent review. We keep its inner workings private, but the principle is simple and public: if a claim cannot be verified, it does not ship.

Legality is part of accuracy

Accuracy is not only about facts — it is also about rights. Didymus Lab uses only openly licensed materials (CC-BY / CC0 / Public Domain). There is no license gray zone in our corpus and no dependence on a translation license that could be narrowed or withdrawn — which is what makes our build clean enough to stand up to an institution's legal review. See our Copyright Policy for the full source list.
